Lunchtime at the Golden Fish Bar

Lunchtime came around today at 1pm. I was so hungry I quit work half an hour earlier and headed over to the Golden Fish bar on the Farringdon Rd.
I’m usually a bit over excessive on making sure I eat the right foods but Fish & Chips will never leave my ‘top 5 favorite foods’ list….ever.

Check out the old school decor. This can’t have changed since it opened surely!

Golden Fish Bar – Lunchtime Special “Cod & Chips” – £4.90
Lil Wayne – Hammersmith Apollo
So Saturday night was the night of Lil Wayne.
I decided to drive to save on the hustle and bustle and found a huge multi level car park 5 mins from the Apollo.
We arrived around 7pm and the huge queue moved down quickly. We was in the venue and at the bar by 7:20pm. A few Red Stripes later we moved up to the seats.
Master Shortie was warming up the crowd. A really good performance in my eyes. I’ve been following Master Shortie for a good year now and hopefully he will start to reap some rewards from his hard work.

DJ 279 then passed through to play some beats while the stage was arranged and then….

A MILLI A MILLI A MILLI!
Lil Wayne rocked the place!! Hit after hit as well as well as showcasing some new bits from the forthcoming Rebirth album.
Weezy finished the show by bringing through some artists on his Young Money imprint:

Shanell, Jae Millz, Mac Maine, Gudda Gudda, Birdman, Lil Wayne
The show finished with an encore of ‘Duffle Bag Boy’ which I ended up humming the whole journey home.
A Trim & A Suit…
Firstly,
Apologies for the lack of content over the weekend… I’ve been maaad busy! The next few posts will rush you up to date…!
Friday I made my way down to Clipso in Soho London for a fresh new hair cut.

My Vegas brother Jack hooked me up nicely, sorted me out some new product (below) and by 7:00pm we was finished and off around the west end for a bit of shopping… You know how we do!

A quick visit to Topman on Oxford street and I’m walking out with a skinny fit suit for £150!

There used to be a day when I would never even head into Topman, let alone buy from there…They have really stepped up their game!
A quick Nando’s and home!
Elaine @ Velvet – In Town 4 One Night Only…
The beautiful Elaine from Velvet was in London this weekend and I was lucky enough to catch up with her for a couple of hours on Oxford St.
The main missions on the agenda were Uniqlo, Office, M&S & Selfridges.

We visited all 3 Uniqlo’s on Oxford St to check out the new Jil Sander pieces. I ended up buying some over the knee women’s socks…. Don’t ask…all will be revealed with the Vegas photos!
It was then on to office for Elaine to cop some exclusive Converse sneakers.
And finally, Selfridges….

Nigel Hall have discontinued to original slim fit formal shirt. They now have these baggy, button down collar style invention. Awful I tell you. Lico was not a happy bunny.
I ended dropping Elaine off at M&S so she could get some bits to take back to LA, and went down to Top Man to meet my Vegas brother Jack.
It was this….

Then home to sleep!
Saturday Night – Designated Driver… :(
So Saturday night rolls around and I’m all set and ready to head off to Shorditch for a night of debauchery… then, the plan changes…
Upper Street, Islington. Now I haven’t been to Islington in a good 3 years so I was a bit pessimistic about the night ahead. A chain reaction causes me to offer my driving services for the evening…
We park the whip and stroll down to the cocktail bar WAX JAMBU and it was as if I walked into a bar in downtown NYC. It was wiiickeeedd! Nice, deep soulful house at a level that doesn’t interrupt conversation, and expert cocktail makers ready to take your order.
I look to my left, girls. I look to my right, girls. This is when I realise that driving was a bad idea..
We order a round of Tom Collins. A nice safe cocktail that any trained cocktail maker can create without too much trouble…

Tom Collins (1986)
ice cubes
2 oz. dry gin
2 oz. lemon juice
1 teaspoon sugar (gomme) syrup
soda water
slice of lemon
1 colored cherry
Place ample ice in large glass. Add gin, lemon juice and syrup. Top up with soda water and stir well. Serve with lemon slice, cherry and a straw.
I clear my glass within 2 minutes and I’m already placing an order for a second. Wait, I’m driving…F**K! Lemonade it is…
